The RSC Chemistry at Work is an interactive exhibition, this year themed innovation and discovery and is part of the Sheffield Festival of Science and Engineering 2013.  Chemistry at Work aims to enthuse young people about the importance of Chemistry in the world of work.  The event also aims to introduce school students to their local chemical industries and to demonstrate how the chemistry which they are learning at school is used by a variety of people in their work.  The first day, Tuesday  19th March was aimed at Y6 (ages 9-11) and the second day Wednesday 20th March was aimed at Y7/8 (ages 11-13).  Workshops included Fingerprint Analysis, CSI Workshop, Ambulance Service Emergency life Support, Sports Science, Health & Safety Laboratory, Electroplating, Polymer Slime, Bloodhound SSC and Science of Renewable Energy. The event was hosted by the Local section of the RSC,  University of Sheffield Chemistry Department, Business & Education South Yorkshire, Sheffield Festival of Science & Engineering, Sheffield chemschools.
