EPSRC wants science snaps
Snap-happy scientists are being courted by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
The funding organisation has launched it’s second Science Photo Competition, which is open to all EPSRC-supported researchers and EPSRC-supported doctoral students.
There are a range of categories that scientists can enter, all focused on depicting research in action. The overall winner of the competition will be awarded £500 worth of camera or photography equipment.
A prize of £150 worth of equipment will be awarded to the winner of each category, and runners up in 2nd and 3rd place in each category will receive £25 worth of equipment. All winning images will also be featured in EPSRC’s Pioneer Magazine and other EPSRC publications.
The deadline for entries is Monday 1 December, and scientists can enter using the ESPRC website: EPSRC Science Photo Competition 2014.
Researchers at the University of Sheffield also still have time to enter our own Research Photography Competition, and have their pictures on display during Festival Of The Mind, at Researchers’ Night.
