Teaching staff in the Faculty of Science can learn about the best ways to teach diverse groups of students at a workshop in the new year.

Teaching Culturally Diverse Groups is a hands-on workshop based on approaches to teaching and integrating international students.

It will look at different learning cultures and communication between different cultures, and it will feature an international student panel to focus on learning and teaching challenges from a student perspective.

Workshop presenter Jude Carroll has run workshops on teaching international students across the UK and internationally. She has collaborated with Dr Janette Ryan on the Teaching International Students project (2009-11), which was funded under PMI2 and hosted at the Higher Education Academy.

This event will take place on Thursday 23 January 2014, 10am-1pm, in room A225 of the Alfred Denny Building. It will be followed by a light lunch.

The deadline for registration for this event is Tuesday 17 December.
